IMystery tours between cupid/eros and ghosts, tour of the Venetian trades (including gondola boatshops or “squeri” and mask making), touring the old traditional pubs or “bacari” and Venetian cuisine.Much has been said of the dark side of the Lagoon city: tales of bloodshed and ghostly legends give Venice an aura of writhing mystery. To follow a route that retraces some of the more intriguing stories is most certainly an alternative way to discover Venice.

The second tour we would suggest, concerns some of the more typical activities or trades performed by Venetians, two of which are most representative of the city: the gondola, a witness to the history of Venice whose construction is still entrusted to the remaining few and rare squeri and to the craft of mask making produced by different laboratories according to ancient artisan/craft techniques, providing an opportunity to retrace the history of Carnevale (famous Venetian Carnival). The tour includes a visit to a craftshop of masks and a squero (boatyard) but we recommend that you combine this tour to the gondola ride.

The third proposal touches on the more flavoursome side of Venice, or rather its succulent culinary specialties including its more typical wines discovered through a practice much beloved by the Venetians themselves: walking from one bàcaro to the other, a still very much frequented tradition by the locals for tastings of the mythical “ombre” (literally shadows or small servings of wine) and cichéti.

Seguire un itinerario che ripercorre alcune delle storie più intriganti è sicuramente un modo alternativo per scoprire Venezia.Il secondo tour che suggeriamo riguarda alcune delle attività più tipiche svolte dai veneziani, e due degli oggetti più rappresentativi della città: la gondola, testimone della storia di Venezia la cui costruzione è affidata ancora ai rari squeri rimasti e le maschere, prodotte da diversi laboratori secondo le antiche tecniche artigianali, un’occasione per ripercorrere la storia del Carnevale. Il tour prevede la visita di un atelier di maschere e di uno squero ma consigliamo di abbinarla ad un giro in gondola (vedi tour 3). La terza proposta tocca il lato più gustoso di Venezia, le sue succulenti specialità culinarie e i vini più tipici scoperti attraverso una pratica assai amata dai Veneziani stessi: un simpatico itinerario nei bàcari frequentati ancora dalla gente del posto per i mitici ombre e cichéti
