Madrid is not only one of the liveliest, friendliest and most generous cities in Europe but, also, one of the most culturally stimulating.
Meninas - Velazquez
From Picasso’s Guernika to Velazquez’s Meninas, there are enough masterpieces in Bourbon Madrid to last a lifetime. Arguably the greatest art gallery in the world, the Prado is one of a variety of well-stocked Madrid museums, best enjoyed in the company of an experienced guide.
Together with the Thyssen Bornemizza, Madrid’s two other national museums, the Archaeological and the Reina Sofía, are among the capital’s most popular. And, yet, any guided tour of the treasures that fill the halls of the Decorative Arts Museum, the Sorolla, the Academy of Fine Arts or the American Museum must, surely, be considered a worthwhile experience.
Nightlife? Almost anywhere you turn and at any time, day or night, you will see people enjoying the city’s vast selection of taverns, cafés and shows… or, simply, walking about, visiting the monuments in Hapsburg Madrid, allowing the majestic Plaza Mayor to bring about memories of a time long past.
As the capital of Spain, Madrid is also the seat of the country’s royalty, whose magnificence throughout the centuries is reflected in such impressive constructions as the Royal Palace, which, to this very day, is still used by Spanish Monarchs.
La Cibeles
Anything you could wish for, you will find in Madrid: from historical buildings to state-of-the-art skyscrapers; from trend-setting stores to flea-markets and old-style shops; public gardens and parks, such as the famous “Retiro”; and last, but not least, a dazzling selection of restaurants, that draws on Spain’s vast array of fine foods and wines.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS TOUR
Question: My husband and I will be visiting Madrid for 4 days June 16 -19 with my parents who are both 81 and 6 children ages 9,12,14,17,18, 23. My mother in particular has a life long love affair with the art world and she will want to take the older children (and my father) to the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia. I would like the younger ones to go just to the Reina Sofia.
Would you be available for the following schedule?
1. 6/16 Tuesday afternoon take them (6) people to the Prado. This would include my parents and the 4 older children
2. Wednesday 6/17 arrange to take my parents (2 people) to one or two other interesting smaller museums and/ buildings of architectural, historical interest? (I see you are booked do you have a suggestion for someone else)
3. Friday 6/18 The Thyssen in the morning with 5 people and the Reina Sofia in the afternoon 10 people?
If you don't mind please let me know how you would break down the price for each of these visits.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you, Gabrielle

Question:
Hi
I am looking for an Art History Guide for the the following three Museums - The Prado, The Museo Thyssen Bornemisza and the Contemporary Museum ? during the week of June 16 -18, Thank you
[[[ moderator: please create a tour accordigly ]]]
Answer: hello, first of all i need to know if you intend to see the 3 museums during the same tour. a tour lasts a maximum of 5 hours, so this would be possible but maybe too much for one morning and we would spend less time in every museum. so far i am booked for the 17th. Many thanks, Ines
