Cappadocia from Istanbul - A Fascinating tour to...

Istanbul the city of two continent once served as capital city to three major empires; Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman, Cappadocia the land of fairy chimneys (volcanic rock formation) with many troglodyte cave house, Byzantine churches, monasteries and underground cities and Ankara modern capital of Turkey

Day 1) Arrive in Istanbul transfer and check into your hotel. Meet with your guide for an orientation briefing.

Day 2) Meet your guide in the morning for a walking guided tour of old Istanbul including Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Basilica Underground Cistern. After lunch we will take an Bosporus tour by boat for a cruise in between two continents, Europe and Asia. In the evening we will take an overnight first class sleeper train to Ankara.

Day 3) Arrive in Ankara in the morning and after breakfast we will visit Ancient Anatolian  Civilizations Museum where you can see artifact from Hittites to Roman period. Later we will travel to Cappadocia via salt lake. In Cappadocia we will visit Kaymaklı Underground city before checking into our hotel.

Day 4 Morning walking tour through Cappadocian valleys with breath taking scenery, volcanic rock formations and caves. Later we will visit Pasabagi for Conic shaped rock formations with old Byzantine chapels carved in and such rock formation are called fairy chimney by locals. In the afternoon we will visit Goreme Open Air Museum famous for its Byzantine cave monasteries and well preserved frescoes.

Day 5) Morning flight back to Istanbul and tour will end up on arrival in Istanbul.
