The collection of the Prado Museum was started as a private collection by the Royal Family during several centuries. This is the reason why the most represented school with many of the best works is the SPANISH SCHOOL: El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Murillo, Ribera… Also some members of the Royal Family were fascinated by the VENETIAN SCHOOL: Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese… and the FLEMISH SCHOOL: Bosch, Brueghel, Roger van der Weyden, Rubens… You can visit in the museum the masterpieces or you can choose any of the schools or a concrete author.
Meeting point Goya Gate

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS TOUR
Question: Hello,
My husband and I will be visiting Madrid for 4 days June 16 -19 with my parents who are both 81 and 6 children ages 9,12,14,17,18, 23. My mother in particular has a life long love affair with the art world and she will want to take the 4 older children (and my father) to the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia. I would like the younger 2 children to go just to the Reina Sofia.
Would you be available for the following schedule?
1. 6/16 Tuesday afternoon take them (6) people to the Prado ? This would include my parents and the 4 older children
2. Wednesday 6/17 arrange to take my parents (2 people) to one or two other interesting smaller museums and/ buildings of architectural, historical interest?
3. Friday 6/18 The Thyssen in the morning with 5 people and the Reina Sofia in the afternoon 10 people?
4. Please let me know how you would break down the price for each of these
visits.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Thank you,
Gabrielle
Answer: Good morning, Gabrielle. Your schedule is possible. The only reservation I would have to do for you is for the Thyssen Museum. The 17th we could visit for exemple the Lázaro Galdiano Museum with your parents or the Archaeological Museum. With the children, I don´t recomend you more than 2 hours in the museums: 144 € (Prado, Thyssen, or Reina Sofía). With your parents, we can make 3 hours: 169 €; or 4 hours: 193 €. I think Creative Tours charge you 10 % comission for all this. Please, let me know if you are interested in order to reserve you the Thyssen.
I have to tell you that I can't promisse you that I will be with you these days because I still don't know if I would be in Madrid, but if not I would ask another collegue, art historian too, to be with you those days. Waiting to hear from you, my best regards, Susana Jarabo.

Answer: Good morning. First thing we need to know is how many you are, because the museums are very strict with the reservations. On the other hand, I'm an art historian. I will be willing to offer you my services, or if is not possible, the services of another colegue who would also be licenced in History of Art. Waiting to hear from you, my best regards, Susana Jarabo
