Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter Basilica...

The tour starts from Vatican Museums: we enter the Pinefruit Courtyard, crossing the collection of greek and roman sculptures, admiring the famous staute of Apollus, the Laocoon and theBelvedere Torso, the statues of animals, the Coffins of St. Helen and St. Constance,  the Galleries of Tapestries and the frescoedMaps of all Italy painted in 1585. The Rooms painted by Raphaeland his pupils, ending with the amazing Michelangelo’s Sixtine Chapel.  Michelangelo worked to fresco the vault of the Sistine Chapel from 1508 to 1512. Michelangelo expanded the project beyond the presentation of the twelve apostles originally commissioned by the pope Giulio 2nd  to more than 300 figures. In this way, Michelangelo was able to give creativity to what is defined as the greatest masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance.

Afterward the tour will lead you inside the highest temple of Christendom: St. Peter’s Basilica. More than a simple church the Basilica, originally build by Emperor Constantine over the tomb of the very first pope, the apostle Peter, was designed by the best Italian architects. Its building took more than 150 years, and under a centain point of view is still a “work in progress”.

As soon as you eneter the basilica, you can admire the beautiful marble floors, and ceilings. The Pietà by Michelangelo, the Jubilee Gate, Bernini’s main altar, the staircase enlightened by eternal lamps leading to the tomb of Saint Peter designed by Carlo Maderno, the tombs of the Popes made by Bernini, Della Porta, Canova, Thorwaldsen and many others, Michelangelo’s amazing dome and more masterpieces will overhelm you. Ending with a view of  the Vatican Grottos,burial places of most of the popes from Peter to John Paul II,  and an external view of the  papal apartment, will give you the complete picture of the headquarter of Roman Catholic Church.

There is a saying in Rome for people who take their time in finishing things, “you take as long as it took St. Peter’s to be built”. To this one can respond, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”.

Cualquier estancia en Roma no se completa hasta realizar la visita a la mayor concentración artística en un solo lugar del mundo: La Ciudad de el Vaticano. Nuestra visita empenzerà desde los Museos Vaticanos, que están constituidos por una colección de obras que los diferentes Papas agregaron durante sus pontificados, hasta alcanzar uno de los primeros lugares entre los Museos del mundo, tanto por la cantidad como por la calidad de sus obras.

En el enterior, visitaremos el Patio de la Piña; la Galería de los Mapas Geográficas; atravesaremos la Galería de los Tapices,hasta una de las grandes obras artísticas mundiales: la Capilla Sixtina, que fue diseñada por orden del Papa Sixto IV en 1481, como capilla privada de los Papas y como lugar de conclave de los cardenales para la elección del nuevo pontífice. Las pinturas de las paredes a ambos lados, fueron pintadas por Botticelli, Perugino, Ghirlandaio, Rosselli, Signorelli, los mejores artistas renacentistas. La capilla es famosa por los frescos de Miguel Angel: la Bóveda con escenas del Génesis y la pared del fondo con el Juicio final. Después admiraremos la Plaza de San Pedro,probablemente el lugar más venerado por la cristiandad. Entraremos en la Basílica, adonde se erigen los monumentos funerarios de los diversos Papas, cuyas tumbas se encuentran en las Grutas Vaticanas. En el altar está el famoso Baldaquino de Bernini, la Pietà de Miguel-Angel y muchas obras de artistas renacentistas y barroco

La visita avrà inizio dai Musei Vaticani: dal Cortile della Pigna visiteremo la collezione di antichità classiche soffermandoci sui capolavori quali il Laocoonte, l’Apollo del Belvedere e ilTorso del Belvedere, attraverseremo la Galleria dei Candelabri, la Galleria degli Arazzi e laGalleria delle Carte Geografiche, per giungere alle Stanze di Raffaello, e alla Cappella Sistina, in cui gli affreschi dei più grandi maestri dell ‘400 fanno da cornice al capolavoro diMichelangelo. Proseguiremo con la visita della Basilica di San Pietro, cuore della crisitanità, e ai capolavori in essa custoditi,come il baldacchino del Bernini, la Pietà di Michelangelo, lastatua bronzea di S. Pietro di Arnolfo di Cambio, ecc. Si visiteranno anche le grotte vaticane dove faremo un percorso tra la tomba del primo papa: San Pietro all’ultima tomba di Giovanni Paolo II.

La visita terminerà nella spettacolare piazza San Pietro, capolavoro urbanistico del Bernini e del Barocco Romano.

Pendant le Renaissance, les Papes furent parmi les premiers souverains à rendre publique leur collection d'œuvres d'art. Aujourd'hui le Vatican vante près de sept kilomètres de galeries expositives.

Nous avons donc fait pour vous une sélection des œuvres les plus importantes sur différents parcours qui culminent avec la Chapelle Sixtine.

L'itinéraire de la visite de Musèe  comprend: la cour du Belvedere, le musée Pio Clementino, la sale des Muses, la sale Rotonde, les Galerie des Candélabres, des Tapisseries et des Cartes Géographiques, les «stanze» de Raphaël, la cour de la Pigne et la Chapelle Sixtine , siège des Conclaves avec les divines fresques de laGenèse et du Jugement Dernier, oeuvre merveilleuse de Michel-Ange Buonarroti.

Continuation de la visite dans la Basilique de Saint Pierre, la plus grande Basilique au Monde, sa surfacie totale dépasse les 15.000 mètres carrés. Il fallut plus de 120 ans et le tallent de douze architectes pour bâtir le plus grand temple de la chrétienté. Sur le «chantier» de Saint Pierre sont intervenus les plus grands maîtres du XVI et XVIIème siècle: Bramante, Sangallo, Raphaël, Michel Ange, Vignola, Bernini, Cortine, Algardi, Lanfranco, sans oublier les artistes plus modernes: Canova, Thorvaldsen ou Manzù.

Nous pouvons admirer la Pietà de Michel-Ange, le corps du Pape Jean XXIII exposé à l'adoration des fidèles, les magnifiques mosaïques, oeuvres de grands artistes et le baldaquin en bronze, oeuvre de Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

Nous continuons avec la visite à la Crypte Vaticane, elle constitue un complexe monumental suggestif pour les innombrables mémoires historiques.

En plus du tombeau de Saint Pierre, elle garde aussi les sépulcres de nombreux Pontifs, parmis les plus célèbres est çelui de Jean Paul II.

La Crypte est riche d'oeuvres d'art provenant de l'ancienne Basilique de Saint Pierre.

Nous conclurons la visite dans le centre de la chrétienté à la Place Saint Pierre, oeuvre maître de Gian Lorenzo Bernini réalisé en 1661.
