An exciting trip through history. The Acropolis tour is a combination of a city tour through the Syntagma area and the Plaka, the old town of Athens, and a detailed visit to the Acropolis of Athens. The tour begins inside your Hotel Loby or the Syntagma metro station where your guide will show you the very interesting archaeological exhibits that were discovered during the construction of the metro. You will then continue on to the House of the Greek parliament, the Monument to the Unknown Soldier and watch the changing of the guards. Walking through Syntagma Square, the heart of the city, you will pass by the National Gardens and the Sotira of Likodimos Byzantine church. ( Russian church).You continue strolling through Plaka and the historic city centre, the same way ancient Greeks did, every day some 2500 years ago. The trail leads you past historical sites such as the Jewish Museum, the Zeus Temple, the Hadrian’s Arch and the Lysicrates Monument where there will be a short stop for commentary. After a ten-minute walk up the beautiful Dionyssiou Areopagitou pedestrian walkway you will reach the majestic Acropolis with its spectacular views over the city below.
