We are going to visit the legendary place, Kronstadt, based 26 kilometers west from Saint-Petersburg on a little island Kotlin. The island had been a border between Sweden and Russia until 17th century, when it started to be the Swedish territory. In 1703 Peter the Great started to build the fortress on the Kotlin island and numerous presidio on artificial islands around. Kronstadt is a unique fortress which has been developed for three centuries, and was an important military and trade harbor of Russia on the Baltic sea. Only in 1996 the secret city was opened to the wide public, and now we have a possibility to visit it. I invite you to take a tour on a life-boat. It is an insubmergible motor boat with a capacity of maximum 7 people, which gives quite extreme feelings on big waves, but is absolutely safe. The tour is available until the end of September, or maybe later, dependable on weather.
